School had just let out in Marble Hill, a small enclave of Manhattan bordering the Bronx. It was a little after 4 p.m. on Oct. 8 when Oscar Belgal, 28, picked up his 5-year-old son and began backing his Honda CR-V into a parking spot on a crowded street.
A police camera caught what happened next. Two men dressed in plain clothes approached Belgal’s SUV with their guns drawn — one to the driver’s side, the other to the front. They were ICE officers. More agents were part of the operation, and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani later noted that officers surrounding the vehicle wore construction vests and masks.
Belgal responded by pulling the SUV forward out of the space. As he did, one officer punched and broke the driver’s window, but Belgal managed to drive off and out of the camera’s view.

The ICE officers caught up with Belgal about a block away. According to ICE officials, Belgal refused orders to exit the vehicle, turned his SUV into a weapon and rammed two government cars. Belgal's defense attorney disputes this account, maintaining that Belgal fled out of panic to protect his child from unidentified, armed men. Initial NYPD street camera footage did not capture the moment of the shooting, but investigators later determined that a bullet went through Belgal's windshield. At least one officer fired seven rounds, striking Belgal in the neck below his left ear. His son, sitting in the back seat, was not physically hurt.
The FBI, Homeland Security investigators and the Bronx District Attorney’s office have all launched inquiries into the shooting.

Reminds me of that WWE video game a magazine discussed where you chose one character and used the same tactics to win every match. This is the same thing. Democrats are repeating the tactics used to create the Great Society in 1965 again because they need to find a way to permanently keep power in a King Barack Obama dictatorship.= using the same tactics.

I looked through my gun book and the Lugar design was the most distinctive practical pistol.
Men involved in stopping this man they shot are variously described as wearing plain clothes and holding guns, or wearing construction vests and masks. Apparently more than just 2 men, but not reported in uniforms or labels. The father is reported as picking up his son and then parking with his son already in the car. Was he still at the school or had he driven elsewhere to park. If these ICE agents deliberately waited at a school to pick up this man, then that whole procedure needs a serious review. A lot to unpack here, await more details.
If I had a child in my car I would probably panic if something like this, as described, happened to me and I am white.
The illegal in question had been in the country for 3 short yrs & had already amassed a lengthy criminal record, including armed robbery 3 times. He had a target on his back by law enforcement, so he obviously wasn’t blindsided by the arrival of ICE. There is also a report that Belgal’s neighbors were relieved he was arrested & thanked the agents because it turns out he was the bully of the neighborhood & they were terrified of him!

ICE could have walked by and pasted an Apple Air Tag on the invader’s car, where it would have remained until the invader turned the car off, got out of the car and was captured.
White guilt is a symptom. White self hate is the root cause.
If they were there because they knew he was picking up his son, this was very bad planning. Whatever his possible crimes, then it would be even more dangerous for the child to pick him up at his school, not to mention for other children coming and going at the end of the day. And if they knew there was a child, what idiot fired into the car? Sounds like poor planning, poor training, and poor responsibility to the public.
I don’t know. They couldn’t shoot out all the tires? I understand if this was a murderer that he was a guy in the country too long. illegally, of course.
