“ This race shouldn’t be close, even with all of Paxton’s character flaws.”
Why shouldn’t it be close?
Or, to ask the question in a better way, what do you think the 501,757 Texans who voted for Cornyn in May will do in November, and why do you think that?
Not what do you WANT them to do. What do you THINK they will do, and why?
Cruz beat Allred by 8.5% in 2024. Talarico is a weaker candidate than Allred. Paxton should win this seat by an equal spread (it would be more except it’s a mid-term). This feels more like 2018 (Cruz-Beto) when I first arrived in Texas.
If your argument is that anyone who voted for Cornyn is stupid enough to vote for Talarico or sit on their hands and allow Talarico to win, well...
And Conyn got over 503,000 votes.
I will take a shot at that:
Most of them, except the pure diehards, that would rather lose a senate seat to show their TDS, will gladly pull the lever for Paxton as he is hands down a better pick than the mentally unstable one running as the opposition.
Not only does Paxton reflect the majority of texan views and beliefs, but he is also a R in the R column for national ramifications.
I’ll take the bait—what will they do?
