Think for a second, if the party was reversed and Talarico trying to defeat a Democrat, there is no question the treatment facility would have released that information the minute the person checked in.
Even if it is a HIPPA violation, it puts the Talarico campaign in a bad situation, deny it and risk being exposed as a liar or confirm it and blow up his campaign.
LSM networks like CBS will ignore it, because he’s a Democrat. If they’re forced to report on it, because they can’t ignore it anymore, they will downplay it or spin it in favor of the Dem.
