Following reporting by @SaraGonzalesTX and @CarolineWren , a hospital employee told @RheinAmacher and I that Talarico had in fact been a patient at the Lindner Center of Hope near Cincinnati, Ohio, which specializes in around-the-clock mental health treatment.
While I sympathize with those dealing with mental health crises, this man is CLEARLY not suited to become a US Senator representing over 30 MILLION TEXANS.
The job doesn’t get easier after being elected — it only gets MORE stressful.
And Talarico clearly can’t handle it.
I pray he gets the help he needs, but Texans need a real representative they can rely on.

Hard to say what should be.
I can only tell you what was reported to have happened.
If I call the hospital and ask to speak to my hospitalized neighbor, if he has already left, I don’t think it unusual to say he has already checked out.
Anything more is likely dealing with Hippa.

There was a local character in Buffalo, New York, who once ran for mayor. As one of his qualifications, he presented a certificate from a mental hospital that he was now competent. He challenged his opponent to produce such a certificate. Needdless to say, he lost handily, and then went on to do more outrageous things. I believe he was depicted in the drama Hill Street Blues.
According to the info provided, the facility didn’t “give anything out.” Rather, unidentified nurses spilled the beans.
The Dumacrats & their media run with unnamed sources all the time.
I am very familiar with HIPAA breaches and what happens when you have one.
The consequences for a facility are severe. Those consequences can be mitigated by swift action.
It is very hard to believe that the source of a leak won’t be identified and the leaker terminated in 48 hours (only because it’s a weekend, 24 hours is normal).
If the source is a person with a license (a nurse, a doctor, a therapist, etc) they are also going to lose their license.
I love how the MSM is digging into this, looking at flights to Ohio. Private aviation records etc. did they fly VFR? / sarc
I think the rules for mental facilities are more strict.

All that said, it would not surprise me if Talarico is mentally ill many times over, a sexual deviant, and actually was having a mental breakdown.

Actually, the investigator skirted the edge of HIPAA:
Under the HIPAA facility directory rules (45 CFR § 164.510(a)), a hospital may disclose certain limited information to someone who asks for a patient by name, if the patient has not opted out of the directory. Official HHS guidance specifically allows releasing the fact that a patient has been “treated and released” (or is no longer at the facility) as part of that directory information. It is treated as reflecting the patient’s location (no longer in the facility) and general condition.
Sloppy of Talarico’s handlers to not opt out.
