Matthew 24:36 says it best: no one knows the day or the hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in Heaven or the Son Himself but only the father knows.
2 Thessalonians 2:3
Let no man deceive you by any means, for that Day shall not come, unless there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition,
You beat me to it. I hadn’t seen your post yet when I mentioned “no one knows the day or the hour” in my own post. Heh. :-)
To my way of thinking this isn't just God working in mysterious ways, it is a blessing.
The way you are supposed to behave is the same no matter how soon or far away it is.
Knowing would be an irresistible temptation to behave differently, as evidenced by the behavior of those who think they know.
That’s right. And Jesus saw this guy and his ilk coming 2000 years ago when he warned of false prophets.
“Matthew 24:36 says it best: no one knows the day or the hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in Heaven or the Son Himself but only the father knows.”
The son of God doesn’t know when yet this person thinks he knows when. Human pride. One has to be constantly prepared and I leave it at that.
Then there's the immediate context, which suggests that the antecedent of *that* day is the day when the "heaven and earth shall pass away", but consensus dogma is what it is, so no wonder people will be caught off-guard.
Matthew 24
34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. 36 But of *that* day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
In any case, re D-Day and H-Hour, everyone knows "that's classified."
The controversial pastor declared: 'God told me because there's no other date coming out, 12 to 13 October, which is the true feast of trumpets, which is when I will be meeting my savior face to face in the rapture.'
Perhaps he got confused with the real Columbus Day. It does actually fall on the observed date this year, so there's that. And the Navy's birthday is the 13th.
If he had done his homework, he'd know that the majority of the Navy Balls this year will be on the 10th.
Well, what can you do.
So correct, no one knows the day or hour, but Jesus says his followers will no the season. We are in the season. Many will be deceived, evil will be called good, good will be called evil, the heart will grow cold, scoffer will not believe in the Rapture.
I’d say the Bible is the real final authority. Guess that means that pastor Mhlakela’s word on the stock market won’t be worth much, either.
