I have never seen anything quite like TDS.
It's been a while, but it seems like mass hysteria is the default for a certain social element.
Remember too, SOME people who will do things in a crowd that they would NEVER do alone. Social media has sort of let the genie out of the bottle!

Trump represents a people’s working class political revolt that must be put down. Policy that is good for the people is bad for the establishment. It’s an all hands on deck evolution to put down the revolt.
TDS is the emotional response to an existential threat.
No one has.
Reagan got the same thing.
The left just didn’t have the internet and social media to magnify it.
I knew a guy in MN who was totally nuts and was sure someday he was going to go postal.
He ended up moving to Seattle and finally died.
