Back when I lived entirely too close to Spartan Stadium, I got the bright idea to teach the kids about entrepreneurship.
We had a back yard with enough parking for 6 cars. I told the little darlings to hold up a sign for $10 off-street parking. (three doors down was $20 parking on campus property).
SJPD was there within 5 minutes or so to tell them they would be sighted and fined if they didn't have/get a city license.
I asked how much is a license?
'$39500, and it takes a month to get it issued.'
My kids learned a LOT about doing business in California!
