NOW IT MAKES SENSE! The media cannot name this storm!! It can only be called a scary mean Nor’easter. Why? Because of the naming convention for Tropical Depression/Hurricanes! The art of propaganda is to focus like a laser on a subject. You’ll note that all of the snow storms are named so people can go into a tizzy and become hysterical that they are going to die soon.
I blame The Weather Channel.
Every time there is a hurricane going to hit the east coast their ratings spike. So, you can’t blame them to try and hype these storms.
Which is why you get the scenes of the girl newscaster sitting in the canoe in a flooded street. Then two guys walk by and you realize the water is about 3” deep.
Or the guy that pretended that the wind was a lot worse than it was by leaning into it.
I am sure there will be power outages on Nantucket, Long Island and Cape Cod. There is this one town on a skinny point just outside of Boston that ALWAYS floods. They will have someone broadcasting from there. Plus Jim Cantore will probably be at the Coast Guard station in Chatham, MA.
One of these places is just barely above sea level on a normal day. When you get high tide and a storm surge it could be 3-5’ under water. The Boston news stations are always broadcasting from them during full moon high tide storm cycles. They should really condemn all the houses there.
