“”But kratom is too weak to kill someone unless something else has been put into it.””
I saw a report last night on TV about this - PLEASE don’t ask me where as I switch channels several times watching TV - what the effects of one Kratom pill would be like and what happens when people like what they get from just ONE and take another and then another...The report covered it being sold in gas stations like bags of potato chips...It will probably come to me where I saw it - LOL...Good report...
Got it - this is what I saw:
According to NewsNation’s coverage, the September 23, 2026 edition of On Balance with Leland Vittert included a segment titled “War Notes” in which Liberty Vittert Capito, a data scientist and Leland’s sister, contributed an analysis on a recent opioid-related case. The discussion centered on her earlier investigative piece, “I bought an opioid at the gas station, and it was legal. That’s a problem,” and on the dangers of kratom, which was being sold at gas stations and linked to two Ole Miss student deaths.
Liberty’s participation was tied to the show’s broader “War Notes” feature, which also included guest Sage Steele, who has a child at Ole Miss, to discuss the data behind the incidents. The segment framed the kratom issue as a public safety concern rather than a partisan one, and Liberty’s role was to provide the data and context for the conversation.
I took kratom years ago to come off morphine after nearly being killed by a drunk driver. Three months in the hospital with a morphine drip.
It is almost always supplied as powdered leaves or aqueous extract.
And it doesn’t make you feel good at all. The more you take the worse you feel.
Whatever people are selling today it can’t be natural kratom.
