What changes when the customer, not the insurance company, is the one holding the money?
Suddenly, price becomes something insurers have to compete on, rather than something they can quietly build in. The plan also calls for real price transparency — costs posted in plain language, not buried in fine print — along with public disclosure of insurer profits and claim denial rates, so consumers can finally see which companies are delivering coverage and which are mostly denying claims while collecting premiums.
None of that fixes healthcare costs by itself. But the refund checks are a concrete, near-term signal of the same underlying argument: that money collected from patients under the banner of running the system should actually go toward running the system — not toward a surplus nobody bothered to explain....
That is of a kind with Trump’s earlier attempts to force hospitals and other providers to publish procedure charges, to help make them compete on price.
I’m self employed and get insurance though the marketplace. My household premiums nearly doubled with a $2,000/mo increase for less coverage. So am i correct in my understanding that I may get a single $500 refund? 7 whole days of coverage?

They teach a course on this at the Learing Centers. For a “small” kickback they can offer lower cost insurance, that really doesn’t cover much, in return for their fee.
