I agree with the oligarchs wanting what used to be called wage slaves, but I am not sure robotics are as far off as you state. When a robot becomes more cost efficient than a Nigerian or Nicaraguan, they will not be needed. That also applies to East and South Asians, many of whom occupy the tech sector. In fact, they will be superficial in a few years.
