We’re not going to find some sort of “obvious smoking gun” in either pilot’s background. So far, on paper, they seem well qualified to be flying a heavy freighter.

The pilot apparently got his type rating for the Boeing 767 in May. That would put him in low hours in that airframe.

Also, higher seniority pilots would be less likely flying on Labor Day weekend and more likely spending time with family and friends, putting the C Team in the cockpit.

Not to mention this outfit seems to be pretty sketchy. I doubt top talent wants to work for such.
