Oh indeed the photo selection is almost always slanted to serve the narrative and that goes for every story not just crime ones.
To be fair, people rarely go professional studios and instruct the photographer to "capture that gleam of homicidal mania in my wife's eye, willya?"
And they rarely take home snapshots intended to highlight how deranged and unstable the future perp is.
Waddaya expect, anyway?
