Correct. I doubt that would happen, given that over 150,000 blacks served in the Union Army during the Civil War.

And the current makeup of the House and Senate would have never passed such legislation.

I meant to say, “laws could have been changed”. Definitely much more doable then than now.

Though today there are separatist movements in both the white and black “communities”.

The ideal solution would be three “nations” a white one, a black one, and a mixed one for those who prefer being “culturally enriched”. That way everyone would be happy.

If such a thing were happen, how do you think those three countries would fare relative to each other?
