Maybe not technically illegal; AFAIL there are no laws about it. But Freedom Of The Press exists so the press can INFORM the citizenry, not manipulate.

“Usually”. But there are even more powerful NGOs which censor to a more destructive end than government. Facebook. Twitter. (Even FR censors.)
