“””””A true shame what has happened to the democrat brand since the likes of Truman””””
Which is why I try to point out the difference of a 21 year old Reagan signing up as a democrat under FDR and his last democrat presidential vote being Truman in 1946, versus some republican that was a democrat of the post roe v wade, 1990s or 2000s gay power, feminism, abortion, anti-gun, gays in the military, etc. modern party of the Hillary Clintons, Obama, Pelosi and such, they are not the same thing or else the democrat state of Texas would have been made up of total leftists before abandoning the democrats.

While the states of the former Confederacy, with the partial exception of Tennessee, were one party Democrat states between the end of Reconstruction and the 1970s, the state Democratic Parties had liberal, moderate, and conservative factions. A few of the conservative Democratic governors of Texas, particularly Coke Stevenson, were more conservative than George W. Bush, Rick Perry, and Greg Abbott. The Byrd political machine that ran Virginia from the 1920s to the 1960s was noted for its frugality and low taxes
