I worked for a company back in the 1980s who’s CEO got arrested at an airport for making a similar joke.
Needless to say, that company isn’t around anymore.

Back in the day, one of Bill Cosby's laugh lines (before his troubling woman
issues): As he boarded a plane he would loudly announce, "Hope the plane
won't crash!".
While he may or may not have actually made such an announcement, he could
possibly get arrested for the joke these days.

arrested Monday after "joking" that he had a bomb in his bag while boarding a flight to Cuba Such a clever comic he should replace one of the national network late night ones.
Earlier yelled to a pal "Hi, Jack." Hadn't seen the Airplane films.
