Modern medicine can still help with a case of the shingles.

There are therapeutics that can reduce symptoms and the risk of complications if you get to a healthcare provider within 72 hours of onset of symptoms.

I got a HORRIBLE case of shingles 2 days after a Pilates class next to a woman who was bragging that she had just had her shingles vaccine 4 hours prior. Coincidence? Maybe. But I had it so bad that the rash extended the full length of my leg. Two rounds of antivirals did nothing. Three weeks of pure misery, couldn’t sleep more than 15 minutes at a time. Finally went to a naturopath who put me on a 38g vitamin C + glutathione infusion. Instant relief. Was worth the $600 cost, which was not covered by insurance.
