I’d certainly rank LBJ in the bottom three. And I wouldn’t argue with making him the worst president ever.

Wilson, for sure. But I’d give Andrew Johnson and James Buchanan a pass. Both men were just in over their heads.

I’d replace them with:

LBJ: His Great Society destroyed the black family unit. That damage is probably irreversible.

George W. Bush: Right after 9/11 Bush had a unique opportunity to crush radical Islam. Put that genie back in the bottle. Instead, Bush told us “Islam is peace.” Then he started two disastrous wars.

Result? Radical Islam is on the march today, and is a serious threat to the entire West.

The usual lists have Andrew Johnson and James Buchanan at the bottom of the list. A survey by academics published in 2021 had Trump near the bottom of the list—ahead only of Pierce, Andrew Johnson, and Buchanan. Evidently the experts surveyed were mostly Democrats. Figures like Jackson and Wilson are ranked lower than they used to be because more weight is being put on topics like the Trail of Tears and racism.
