Bring back the 250 cubic inch inline six!

Mine was okay (Chevelle). I prefer the 3.8l for reliability and the 350ci for EVERYTHING! My present 3.4l (2004 Venture) is doing fine with 220,000 on the odometer. The 3.1 and quad-4 engines both blew head gaskets prematurely.

For Fords, I love the 4.0 liter for reliability and adequate power. My 4.6l (1989 Grand Marquis) caught fire. My '72 Torino engine threw a rod (bad oil pump), but I do not know if it was a 302 or one of the 351s.

Chrysler? 225ci Slant-six or 363 Big Block V-8. The 318 wanted premium fuel and underperformed.

Probably just a typo but Chrysler never made a 363. Did you mean the ubiquitous 383 big block? Or the rare 361 big block or the somewhat more common small block 360?

As for the 318, it underperformed because it was a low compression base small block V8 with a 2bbl carb. Premium fuel would not help a 318 because it was never built with high enough compression that it would ping without premium fuel. Now it's bigger brother 340 four barrel or six pack on the other hand...

I’d be interested in that 72 as I have two of them.... one a 2Dr Fastback and the other a Ranchero.
