This macroeconomic documentary argues that Germany is experiencing a structural, irreversible deindustrialization due to a combination of self-imposed policy failures, high energy costs, and bureaucratic paralysis. The creator posits that Germany is essentially executing a modern version of the 1944 Morgenthau Plan (0:00–1:15), resulting in a collapsing middle class and a declining standard of living that may soon fall below that of Mississippi (1:23–3:45).
Key themes include:
The Breakdown of the German Business Model: Germany’s economy previously relied on a "geopolitical arbitrage" of cheap Russian natural gas and high-end manufacturing exports to China. With these pillars compromised, the nation is losing its competitive edge to cheaper, more innovative international alternatives (5:33–8:11).
The Volkswagen Crisis: The closure of the Dresden "Transparent Factory" (8:41–9:20) and the violation of a 30-year labor protection agreement (11:04–11:42) serve as a "sovereign default" signal for the broader German industrial sector.
Bureaucratic and Fiscal Stagnation: The video highlights the Schuldenbremse (Debt Brake) as an "economic straightjacket" (14:39–15:07) that prevents necessary infrastructure investment. This, combined with an "analog empire" mentality—such as the reliance on fax machines in government offices (16:52–17:29) and 5–10 year permitting timelines for green energy (17:38–18:07)—is causing capital to flee the country (18:33–19:26).
The Mississippi Comparison: The American South is identified as the beneficiary of this shift, as it offers the exact components Germany has abandoned: secure, affordable baseline energy and a regulatory environment that facilitates industrial development (19:48–20:45).

Mississippi doesn’t have Muzzies or women in niqabs out in the street. Germany does. Mississippi is not worse than Germany.
Germany has lots of coal. They just refuse to mine it and burn it for power anymore.
But Mississippi produces Nissans and Toyotas--not as luxurious, but practical.
And Alabama and South Carolina produce Mercedes and BMWs, respectively.
Germany deserves this. Their always-arrogant, socialist, globalist, leftist-fascist society could use a few slaps in the face. LOL.
When I say “produces” I mean designs, finances, builds and markets. Don’t know about you guys but I’ve traveled Germany *and* Mississippi. There’s not a lot that one sees in the Ruhr Valley that reminds you of Mississippi.
Please review history. The Greens forced Global Warming down the German’s throats. The Germany car companies expanded into the Chinese emerging market, but the cost was to train the Chinese how to build modern automobiles. These Chinese cars at considerable lowers prices were imported into Europe destroying the Germany car industries. The European 17% tariff on Chinese cars was not high enough. The additional 10% fee for not made in Europe was not enough to stop the Chinese. Now these German automakers are forced (economically and legally (unions)) to rent European factories to the Chinese which lowest the Chinese cost 27%! That’s why the German car companies and German government has “driven” the German economy into the Mississippi Zone! Please review the much lower sale numbers for these former great car companies. Porsche AG has reported global deliveries of 122,306 vehicles during the first half (H1) of 2026, marking a 16% year-on-year decline compared to 146,391 units delivered in H1 2025. Note Mississippi can improve, too late for Germany.
BASF Sales declined from the 2022 high of 87 million Euros to 2025’s 59 million Euros. That’s not winning! BASF’s plan? Opening a massive Chinese plant which will basically be 1/3 of BASF to start in 2027. With the Chinese emerging market, the plant could soon become 50% of BASF.
PS, this is what the Canadian Tariffs are about! China wants to use Canada as a transit stop for entry of their cars into the USA. Trump is smart enough to want to save USA jobs!
I’ve been telling people for several years that Germany is imposing the Morgenthau Plan on itself.
Could that be the only logical explanation for the German elites bringing in 3rd world immigrants? They think immigrants will make better agricultural workers in the new pastoral Germany?
Russia was PERFECTLY HAPPY to continue selling Germany cheap, reliable Natural Gas - but Biden’s Puppet Government made them stop.
On top of all that, the German automotive industry leaders bought into the gaea-worship no-carbon BS. Their product mix was all screwed up as a result, just starting to recover.
I'm very familiar with Germany but have never been to Mississippi. But it's probably a safe bet that there are no wineries or breweries in Mississippi, just as barbecue and mud pies cannot be found in Germany.
Well they blew the horns
And the walls came down
They’d all been warned
And the walls came down
They stood there laughing
They’re not laughing anymore
The walls came down
-The Call
Berlin is starting to look a lot like Jackson, Mississippi.
THE RISE AND FALL Of GERMANY
The End
Merkle’s plan realized. No better than Starmer.
I don’t know much about Mississippi but how bad can it be when you’re the standard used to measure how bad things have become in other countries?
Money pits that depreciate faster than almost any other vehicle. You couldn't give me any of those brands.
South Carolina, Alabama, and Tennessee do. It's only a matter of time before Mississippi gets into the act ... or until those companies go out of business.
