Always follow the money. The solution is to cut off the flow of funds to the activist groups. Doing so requires:

1). Ending non-profit status for ALL organizations including religious organizations and charitable foundations.

2). End taxpayer grants and subsidies to NGO’s.

3). Sunset private foundations. Require them to spend all of their funds for the stated purpose within 20 years. Prohibit them from changing their stated mission after they are established. Prohibit them for transferring capital to establish new foundations.

I’ve been with those provisions for 25 years. Environmental NGOs have become vehicles for tax-exempt resource racketeering to benefit select stockholders. Beyond that, foundations have become tax-exempt spending money. Foundations and NGOs are the primary vehicle by which the rich get richer at the expense of the middle class.
