Anybody can get imaginary weapons at some future date.
By your logic we should be invading a dozen different countries—not including the ones that already have nukes.
We are chasing real weapons that have not yet been assembled because we blew the sh*t out of their equipment and their supply.

I have always followed the Curtis LeMay school of thought on nuclear proliferation. I think it was a mistake to allow Pakistan and North Korea to develop them, but not nearly so big of a mistake as it would be to allow Religious fanatics in Iran to have them.
