James Bond producer Amy Pascal has dropped a little more intel on what we can expect from the actor who will replace Daniel Craig in the iconic spy franchise.
And suffice it to say, it sounds like it’s going to be all change.
Since Craig handed in his licence to kill following 2021’s No Time to Die – his fifth outing as the suave MI6 operative – it has become a national pastime to debate who the next actor will be to take on the part, following in the footsteps of Sir Sean Connery, Sir Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan too.
But after nearly five years of rumours and thwarted reports – we all thought we had Aaron Taylor-Johnson confirmed in March 2024 for a second there – we are still in the dark over who the next Bond will be.
However, Pascal – who was confirmed to be taking the reins on the much-loved film series alongside Harry Potter producer David Heyman after Amazon MGM Studios bought full creative control off longtime producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson in February 2025 – has now offered a couple of breadcrumbs.
When asked about an update on the timeline for Bond and any casting announcement, the Spider-Man producer told Deadline: ‘I would say the end of the year is a good bet. We are being really, really methodical.’

James Bond is a tired and tiresome franchise.
The initial movies were stupid, sexy fun. Then they just became stupid. With the last few, they’ve turn depressing and dark.
I have as little interest in them as I have in the Marvel pictures.

The G.O.D. Complex: In the book, G.O.D. Inc.
operates out of a massive, reality-bending corporate
headquarters that looks like an endless, multi-dimensional complex of offices and warehouses.
The James Bond Cameo: The main female protagonist, a private detective named Polly “Pool” Harrison, navigates through the alternate dimensions of this complex.
At one point, she enters a reality/room where she crosses paths with an active, idealized secret agent who introduces himself exactly as “Bond. James Bond.”
Chalker threw this in as a playful homage to classic spy tropes, using G.O.D. Inc.’s ability to cross between parallel timelines and fictional layers to briefly drop the actual 007 into his sci-fi universe.
I welcome the future coming independent AI films without stupid actors and the need for crazy budgets.

Daniel Craig is probably bi-sexual. He has said in early interviews as Bond that he liked going into gay bars and he did not like guns.
“During an appearance on the Lunch with Bruce podcast on SiriusXM, Craig revealed that he has preferred going to gay bars for as long as he can remember. He clarified his reasoning directly”

This whole “next Bond” thing is stupid and tiresome.
James Bond is a specific character. He’s British, male, white and looks like Sean Connery. Period.
007 is just a number, and anyone could be assigned that number when the old Bond retires or is killed. Or is cashiered for conduct unbecoming.
Retire the name. Reassign the number. That could even be made into a joke in the film, with M tellibg the new Bond, “They’ll never see you coming, because they don’t know the last guy is dead.”
