My daughter spent some time in Mongolia some years ago. The natives use wooden saddles. She did a 6 hour ride on one out to a family’s ger where she stayed. Fortunately she was an experienced equestrian or I don’t think she would have survived
She's been riding thru the Gobi desert. What a God forsaken country Mongolia is.
