The district (Allendale, Melvindale, Lincoln Park, part of Southgate), considering it is located in Wayne County, actually is not SO ridiculously liberal (D+7) but in 2026 D+7 is effectively at least D+10 and that is “Safe D” territory.
The GOP opponent of this Democrat thing in State House District 2 is interesting. He’s some old guy who ran 40 years ago, in New York, as a Democrat. He reappeared in this Michigan district in 2022 and 2024 and lost both times & will achieve the three-peat in 2026.
