Occasionally, pints from home would show up in the mail. Folks coming back from R&R always brought a fifth or a quart. Nothing ever lasted much more than two minutes or so.
On the one hand, it’s good to stay sharp when on patrol. By contrast, nothing like a hangover once the combat starts. 😁
