I’m an obsessed label reader because some sweeteners aren’t considered artificial but they cause me problems. Stevia is one. One drink and the inside of my mouth is burning.

Good call. Technically, xylitol also is considered to be non-artificial, but it definitely disagrees with my daughter's stomach. Aspartame and sucralose also pop up in a lot of non-diet products (perhaps for cost considerations). Regular Juicy Fruit gum has apartame these days.

Nothing technical about it xylitol and sorbitol are naturally occurring and can be found in many fruits. But, people do have sensitivities to lots of natural things. Both actually act as natural laxatives when consumed in, for instance, prunes.
