Honeywell moved its global headquarters out of northern New Jersey to Charlotte, North Carolina. The company must be doing very well with their government contracts. Check out their new headquarters.

Yes, it’s impressive. I’d say it’s excessively impressive.
The Honeywell I worked at in St. Pete/Clearwater, Fl. bought 24 ft, perfect 2X4’s called aircraft grade lumber. They used it to build temporary cubical walls eight feet tall and covered with carpet. You couldn’t even see how amazingly perfect the wood was. I asked a former Honeywell director why they bought such expensive lumber. He said, “Because profit is a percentage of costs. Larger costs, larger profit.”

If I was in the GAO, I’d figure the average cost per square foot for whatever space Honeywell bought and back that out of the cost because it is excessive and wasteful.

The distressing thing is every government contractor does the same thing. We could have the same military at a fraction of the cost if this waste was stopped.
