If they can keep us engaged with no end in sight and keep gas prices high, they figure the Dems sweep the mid-terms and starting in January will neuter Trumps with constant investigations and impeachment hearings. They’ve been at this a long time. And they have to advantage of not having to answer to their people.
I’d arm the Kurds and offer them a homeland in the north will full US recognition. Give Tehran something else to think about. I’d also help the Saudis crush the Houthi and turn Israel loose on Hamas and Hezbollah. We should also let Russia and China know that assisting Iran will be considered an act of war against the US and its allies and could result in payback of some sort. Leave it vague for now.
