From its founding in 1996 until today, the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) has been known as a “progressive” league. The WNBA has decried “police brutality,” “racism in all its forms,” and the “systematic oppression of Black Lives in America.” The WNBA has also been at the “forefront” of “initiatives” to “support” a variety of left-wing issues such as “gun control,” “#MeToo,” and “#BlackLivesMatter,” among others.
With such a history, it is not surprising that the WNBA refused to allow players at their All-Star game to wear “USA 250” patches on their uniforms. According to Warner Todd Hutson of Breitbart News, the WNBA is “the only major American pro sport to reject the patch.” The patches were worn by all players on both teams in the Super Bowl and throughout the National Basketball Association (NBA) Finals.

Because I personally know some fine liberal people, I've come to differentiate between people who are socially liberal and leftists, who truly, IMHO, do hate America.
Contrast this with the multitude of attempts to establish a spring football league. Every one of them has gone down in flames, as will the present day UFL eventually, and all for the same reason: they cannot create a sufficient corporate and fan base. The WNBA would play without a single fan, for it is the virtue signaling protection racket for the NBA, a small price for them to pay to keep the race, gender, and alphabet hustlers from the stadium door.
I know almost zero about the league but my question is how does it even support itself?
Surely it’s not so popular it stays afloat on it’s own.
Over the years I have seen that distinction diminished.
Roller derby was awesome.
I dont care if it was staged, anybody that knows how to roller skate knows how difficult and dangerous it was to pull off the moves those skaters did.
I’m surprised nobody ever got killed.
I speculate this “poor little white girl” routine is nothing but a made for TV narrative to build viewership and attendance.
Do you guys remember the Mathew McGuire scandal in baseball where an obviously steroid chewing “has been” kept at it long past his “sell by date” with the media cheering, viewership booming and “won” some home run records?
He came clean after he quit.
The owners and media ignored it.....pimped him.....to play to the fantasies of old fat duffers like us..or so my conspiratorial mind conjures.
Getting thrown over the rail on skates looked pretty scary. I saw players kick another in the head with their skates. Makes the WNBA look like pansies. I don’t know how much of it was staged, but it reminded me of pro-wrestling. I suspect much of the stuff in the WNBA is staged too.
