He was toddler age.

He was two years old. That's an accurate, factually correct statement.

A "toddler" is "one who toddles", which this unfortunate child was unable to do. Words mean things. Reporters are idiots. I'm past tired of sloppy writing in Big Media.

To be clear: I'm not insulting the child; I'm impugning the reporter.

A "toddler" is "one who toddles" There are multiple definitions. Both an age-based only definition and the "one who toddles" are separate entries. The context made it clear which definition was employed.

One definition of "adult" is a fully mature human who is one who has reached legal age. Another is one who is fully developed and mature. A Down's child will eventually be an adult in one sense, but not the other.
