President Donald Trump went off on ABC News White House correspondent Mary Bruce during a Tuesday press conference in the Oval Office after she asked him about the Iran war, with the president saying she didn’t know “anything” about the conflict.
“Mr. President, there are no signs that Iran is ready to stop fighting, so what is the plan? Is the plan to just keep fighting until they give up?” Bruce asked.
The president was agitated by the question and bashed her for it.
“How would you know there are no signs? Why, do you know something that I don’t know?” he shot back.
‘Well, they continue to attack our allies and kill Americans—” Bruce started to respond, before Trump cut her off.
“You don’t know what the dialogue is behind the scenes. They want to meet desperately to try and end it, because they’re getting decimated. You don’t get that when you’re listening to your fake station, but you don’t know anything.”
Bruce started to ask if talks were ongoing, as Trump continued peppering her with questions.
“You know something I don’t know? Do you know something I don’t know?” he said.
“Well tell us,” Bruce said.
“I will tell you they want to desperately meet, and until they are ready to meet in a meaningful way, we have no interest,” Trump answered.
The president previously branded Bruce a “terrible person” last year when she asked him questions about Jeffrey Epstein and his family’s business deals in Saudi Arabia.
Their feisty exchange on Tuesday followed an Iranian attack on a military base in Jordan that killed two American soldiers last weekend. The U.S. has responded with more military strikes, which reached 10 consecutive days on Monday.
“They did slip something through,” Trump said about the Jordan attack a bit later in the Tuesday press conference.
He reiterated his administration’s goal is for Iran to never obtain a nuclear weapon.
WOW!!!
Who are you & HTF do you know all of this?
I AM SO IMPRESSED!!!
Better for the world if you DONT think.
It is obvious, captain. It is not news and just making bandwidth.
“My personal credibility is secondary to the decision voters will make this November. We have seen this same pattern of behavior repeat across multiple election cycles, including 2008, 2012, and 2020. Relying on unrealistic narratives ultimately undermines your credibility, and maintaining an artificially optimistic outlook will not prevent another public misstep.”
Loose lips sink ships. ABC correspondent Mary Bruce wanted President Trump to have loose lips by giving away the plans against Iran.
What did you expect? Iran to lay down. This is a war, not a movie. They are the modern day Nazi party. Also, its quite obvious Europe considers Iran to be their ally. The public won’t support what actually needs to be done, so we have to whittle away at them. We are doing extremely well. The only thing that can stop us is the democrat party. We’ll keep the shipping open by force. We’ll block Iran’s ports. Eventually they’ll have no answers. Patience my friend.
I’m not impatient, but you can’t be surprised that the American public has lost its patience given the incessant drumbeat of victory claims.
Trump is going to Trump.
Militarily, Iran is defeated. They have nothing. If they were rational, they would call it quits and think of their peopple and join the community of nations. We could trade with them and join economies. Have tourism. They could host international events. The persian culture is rich and interesting. Iran has much to offer and share. But, Iranian leaders are not rational. They are zealots. Unfortunately they can muster enough drones and fast boats and missiles to cause havoc in the shipping lanes. It doesn’t take a lot to be able to do that....even though every time they are successful Trump makes them pay one hell of a price. They don’t care. It’s a sad despotic ruthless group of leaders in Iran.
No country should be allowed to control international waters. No way should the west trust this group with nuclear weapons.
Trump is right. This should have been handled decades ago, but it was kicked down the road again and again. Here we are. Time to stop it. It sucks. But, it has to be done.
The question isn’t whether it should be done/. The question is whether it will be done.
The American public is doubting that it will.
It’ll get done. We have no choice.
