If a Freeper located in Germany posts that a German politician is “fat” the German prosecutors will press charges against them.

That won’t happen to you in America. Yet.

Frederick Merz is a spineless Hampelmann (Hugo von Hofmannsthal) lacking the moral courage and proper democratic Gesinnung necessary to steer his once-great but now flailing party into the right direction - as evinced by his meekly kowtowing* to his party's banner issue, namely: the self-righteous imposition of the shameful Brandmauer around the AfD, thus revealing the CDU/CSU's increasingly fascistoid tendencies.

I wish I could say more bad things about Merz, but he is otherwise so totally lacking in distinguishing characteristics that it's a challenge; "You cannot carve a man out of a banana!" (W.C. Fields)

But he isn't "fat."

Just as a rhetorical flourish, I would support the AfD "flipping the script" and demanding the erection of a Brandmauer around such anti-democratic parties as the CDU/CSU.
