Wow. It has changed. The Boston transplants here in Phoenix have Red Sox bumper stickers and shirts, not so much Pats.

Might be a generational thing. I watched a lot of Bruins on WSBK TV-38. Gary Cheevers was great in goal, and Terry O’Reilly was fun to watch. (I am a Kings fan, though). The WSBK coverage was exceptional. When I stayed up late to watch the Kings against the Bruins at the Forum, the main camera seemed to always have the season ticket holder with a hat sitting in front. Amazing that a media city like LA would have such garbage TV coverage of the home town team.

I have lived in southern NH since 1985.
When I moved here it was all about the Celtics.
Bird, Parish, etc. Tickets to their games were not available to normal people. All sold out.

They won another title in 2008 with Parish. Another a few years ago with the two Js. Now Jaylen is gone to the Sixers. The Pats went to the Superbowl and got crushed by Da Bears. Then they sucked until they hired the Big Tuna.

But they really didn't become the Dynasty until TB12 came off the bench when Bledsoe got hurt and took them to the Superbowl. Defeating the Greatest Show on Turf. Mostly due to Belicheck's defense. Then we had twenty years of Brady/Belicheck. Until Bill didn't want to give Brady 15MM/year and he left and won a championship at Tampa. Proving that the whole team revolved around Brady. Not Bill. Which is why NO ONE wanted to hire him as a head coach. The Sox went to World Series and lost to the Mets. Then they sucked for 20 years. While the Evil Empire(Yankees) dominated. Even Roger eventually wore Pin Stripes(the horror).

Eventually the Sox got sold to John Henry and his investor group. They remodeled Fenway, brought in good management and paid for some great free agents. Finally we defeated the Evil Empire in 2004 and won the Series. But the REAL series was the ALCS. Beating the Yankees.

They won again a few years after. Mostly because they brought up great young players. The best being Mookie Betts. Who eventually got the big payday with the Dodgers. There were always loyal Bruins fans. They won the cup about ten years back and generally have been a disappointment in the playoffs since. That is generally the Boston/New England sports picture.
