I absolutely agree. It is also a real home field advantage when Miami has to come up north and play in Buffalo or New England during a snow storm in January. Jut like the 12th man was an advantage for the Seahawks.
Same as when the Greatest Show on Turf was great playing inside a dome, but not so great in cold weather places like Chicago or Green Bay.
I was thinking from more of a fan perspective. I also remember going to Rich Stadium in Orchard Park and sitting in the upper deck when it was raining sideways and about 38 degrees. Having a rain coat over us that we would duck under between plays. Watch the play and then back under the rain coat.
Another memory I have of being in an old stadium:
Back in the late 1980s Reggie Jackson and the As came to Fenway. Roger “the Rocket” Clemmons was pitching that night.
Me and my room mate drove down and bought tickets outside the stadium. My ticket in the first base side grandstand said “Obscured View” right on the ticket.
That is because there was(still is) a 16” wide I-Beam post right in front of my seat. I spent the entire game leaning to the right to watch the action. Reggie got the better of Roger that night. He got on base twice and Roger struck him out once.
It is funny how you recall things almost 40 years ago. I have been to countless Red Sox games since. Mostly because my former boss/company had season tickets. I have never sat behind a post since that one game in the late 80s.
