How much did she spend on airfare, hotel, eating out, etc to go from Boston to Toronto. Plus the concert tickets.
I have personally never done that. Fly somewhere else to see a show. Although, people go to Vegas all the time to see someone at Caesars or now the Sphere. My daughter and Son in law occasionally fly to some city to see TOOL. When they have one of their concerts.
I do not even want to pay the money to see Andrea Bocelli at the Boston Garden because the cheap seats are $145 each. The good seats are $250-1000 each.
**One 30 year woman in my office flew to Toronto to see him in concert. As opposed to going to Fenway. Which is 15 miles from her house in the Boston suburbs. How much did she spend on airfare, hotel, eating out, etc to go from Boston to Toronto. Plus the concert tickets.**
I did it more than once. Concerts in conjunction with a sporting event. One night in Phoenix David Bowie played. The next night it was Johnny Rivers at a different venue.
Then there’s the NFL prime time schedule allowing anyone to watch they’re team while traveling. A week checking out Kitty Hawk, Roanoke, Hatteras, and Charleston with a swim an Myrtle Beach. Season opener and the niners were playing the Giants and the commentators couldn’t help but talk up that TE from Miami as the 2nd coming. Niners won btw.
Then there was a week driving around New Mexico. Monday nite was in a Santa Fe Howard Johnson’s sports bar watching Bryant Young break his leg. The 2nd half was spent in the hotel room knowing the game was lost.
Those road trips were fun. Affordable $99 flights anywhere back then combined with a rental car for a week. Sightseeing, concerts, games on the tube. Don’t forget the fine cuisine at Hooters. Life was good. It’s ok now, just more expensive.
