What an interesting distinction, I never thought of it in those terms. And as I think more about it, it makes a lot of sense!
It is why we believe morality is important, to have a compass supplied by God, or by a societal moral compass.
My wife and I were talking about this recently... it is really no wonder that we see and hear about all of the incredibly awful behavior that is so widespread and deeply immersed in our society... Far too many have no real moral compass in their lives... nothing to reflect against or seek guidance from... You listed in your prior post: Pride. Greed. Lust. Envy. Gluttony. Wrath. Sloth. Hate. Anger. Jealousy. Deceit. Criminality. Violence. Basically, the Seven Deadly Sins, and more.
All of these surge forward daily, because that which would keep them at bay has all but vanished from far too many in our society. It is almost as if "it is OK if I can get away with it" has become the de facto code...
Lately I have noticed a lot of number two in your list, Greed... it just seems to be driving so much...
Greed is certainly one. Lust (In the form of universal promiscuity, homosexuality, etc). Envy (that is a big one with Leftists). Sloth (seems to be a huge number of people who don’t want to work)
