Modern day Argentina gives us Milei. Spain gives us Sanchez, friend of the Communist Party of Spain.
Milei won’t be there forever, and when he goes, it’s right back to the usual Peronists.

Factually, Spain's president is a globalist, aetheist, and a communist and Muslim sympathizing socialist who wouldn't let the US use their airspace against Iran.
Meanwhile, Milei is a MAGA ally.

It takes a lot to change from a red/green globalist. I don't see it changing in Spain "in a few years".
I give the people of Argentina credit for electing Milei.
I only saw the slow motion close up replay of Enzo Fernandez’s red card foul. I thought I saw Fernandez step on the foot of Spain’s Pau Cubarsí who just cleared the ball. The below video shows I was wrong. The shoes did meet and was the fulcrum of the spin that sent Cubarsi flying. The foul justifiably gave Fernandez a yellow card. With two yellow cards, the second one become a red. Here is a good video of the foul:

Sadly this game reduced my opinion of Messi. If he has been relying on a team that is playing a foul and fight game to win the game, its good they did not win. Being the best player on a team of thugs does not elevate you to greatness.
Spain had a good Soccer based game plan, Argentina did not.
I did notice several teams engaging in rough tactics to unhinge their opposition. It is not the soccer I know or want.
Spain’s defense shut them down, just as they did against France.
They gave up one goal in eight games.
Frankly, Argentina’s only chance to win was to get it to penalty kicks, and they almost pulled it off.
And for the Final, they should do away with penalty kicks for this precise reason. Don’t allow a team to park the bus the whole game. If it wasn’t for Penalty Kicks, Argentina would have to play more aggresively.
Mostly Central American and South American teams. I don’t like Mexico for their same tactics. I think it’s unsportsmanlike. If you want to be great, don’t resort to these techniques. Yet, they learn them from birth. Grow up, boys! You don’t act like real men.
I have a high regard for Messi, too, but I think deep in his heart, he knows his team and countrymen screwed him over. That’s NOT how you play soccer/futbol. Paredes was abominable, and so were others.
Argentina’s game plan was to play for PKs. They knew they couldn’t score on Spain. Spain only had one goal scored against them the entire Cup. The only way for Argentina to win was to get ahead in PKs. That’s all they had, so they resorted to fouls.
By the grace of TPTB, Argentina made it into the semi finals, and then the finals.
They almost did.
Their after-the-whistle behavior made it clear they were just thugs, not athletes. A total humiliation to their country and their flag.
I miss the old Brazil “Beautiful Game” teams.
Today’s Brazil team is a mere shadow of those teams.
Pele is the reason I got so enthralled with soccer. He was amazing to watch. It totally was the “Beautiful Game”. When our kids were little, we gave them Brazil jerseys for Christmas one year, and they proudly wore them whenever the mood struck. Especially our oldest.
I didn’t get that feeling of the “Beautiful Game” very much in this Cup. It was there, but not as it has been in the past.
I noticed a lot of pushing and grabbing and jersey pulling that didn’t get called.
Yeah, I did too. The ref let them play some, but there were plenty of times that fouls have been called for that.
It was very noticeable on corners and free kicks.
