Since may of these people are descendants of European slaves, they are kind of coming back.
On the web, I ran across some Iraqi guy with Czech last name.
There are apparently few hundreds of his namesake relatives living in Iraq.
Apparently hid Greatgreat...grandfather was captured by the Turks and to get himself out of the slavery converted to muslim faith.
But then, he could not return back home, because muslims were not allowed in Austrian empire at that time.
So he stayed in Iraq and produced many descendants!
They are still living there and well aware of their origin!
