No. I grew up in the midst of the wood products industry in Oregon. My father and all his brothers were actual loggers before WW2 took them away. My father worked in a lumber mill until an accident forced him to retire in 1969.

My brother worked in a plywood mill for several years until he married the wrong woman. I knew a very highly paid software engineer who paid his way thru college by working summers as a logging choker, one of the the most dangerous jobs in the world.

A logger is someone who works around cutting trees in the forest. Period.
