How does something like this even get to the floor for a vote? Infuriating that they have time for this crap but the SAVE Act is collecting dust.
Actually, they tacked the Save Act onto the NDAA. Assholes. This has gotten very little exposure or interest on FR.
Not actually true - yesterday Mike Johnson put it on the NDAA and passed it out of the House - now it’s back in Thune’s hands and Thune has to pass the NDAA. The Parliamentarian will probably rule it out of order, but then there they go again and Thune is going to have to deal with it.
His choices will be to fire the Parliamentarian and pick a new one - who may or may not rule the same way, and/or vote down the NDAA, and/or remove SAVE America from the NDAA and send it back to the House, which may or may not pass the House, but then Trump *could* veto it even in that case and force everyone’s hands again.
But to say the SAVE America Act is gathering dust is anything but true.
