if you are going to re-learn the operating system, just put linux on it. its free and will run on anything. no need to pay a crappy company a crapload of money.

Although Linux runs on just about any PC, most apps do not run on Linux and many that do, are compromised or require extensive troubleshooting.

its true, ios apps will not run on linux. thats because they run on ios. i dont believe you when you say 'many are compromised' thats BS unless you got some sort of proof. there are things that require tinkering or troubleshooting but most things, especially most standard USER applications run fine, office suite, web browser, etc etc etc
