The thing about Tennessee as I understand it is, there aren’t wide areas where homes are for sale. And not many apartments. My friend moved up there a few years ago and struggled to find a house to buy in east Tenn.
My friend ended up falling asleep while driving and drove off a cliff into a lake. Tennessee has lots of cliffs and not a lot of guardrails. I’ll take my chances here in Florida.

In 2016 I did a driving trip from Knoxville to Nashville using the backroads through the numerous small towns. I said to myself then, there are a lot of small towns in Tennessee that would be a nice place to live in as a retiree. I suspect there have been many other retirees who saw the same and actually moved to these small towns.
