I agree. And though I preferred all the models I listed over the VW Beetle, I respect the Beetle for doing exactly what it set out to do. Extremely simple (no radiator, no long drive train), parts everywhere, inexpensive, can be made reliable. You do not see a lot of them here in Phoenix. I wouldn't trust air cooling when the air is 115 degrees F.
