I have no idea who they will pull out of their hat, but it’s a bit unfair that Democrats get to do this all the time. It’s also unfortunate that Collins is not strong enough to go out there and rub their noses in it for nominating him in the first place.

The Democrats in Massachusetts kept re-electing Teddy Kennedy as long as he lived after he caused the death of Mary Jo Kopechne by driving off a bridge (probably driving drunk which is why he waited for hours to report the accident). But he got a two-month suspended sentence for doing that.
