All right, Variety, this is weird. Rob Reiner and his wife were stabbed to death by their schizophrenic son. Yes, he was afflicted with Stage 4 TDS, but that's no way to die.
We'd let the man rest in peace. Still, Variety is reporting that Reiner is having the last laugh at President Donald Trump with a posthumous role as George Washington in Larry David's “Life, Larry, and the Pursuit of Unhappiness: An Almost History of America."

It’s funny how these folks never look at their personal lives, their family lives, and ask themselves: Am I really wise enough to run the world? One of the most interesting moments of the debates in 2016 was when the question posed to Trump and Hillary was, “Can you each say one positive thing about the other?” And Hillary said something like, “His children love him. He must be a good father.”

Trump and Melania got to enjoy laughter and happiness on the 4th for and with children and step children while all being blessed with the same opportunities afforded those who pursue “Unhappiness” and who negate that opportunity due to the effects of severe TDS.

This is sad and wrong in so many ways. Reiner didn’t plan this as a post-death performance. And given that it is political, David and the other producers should have cut it out. I’ve said it in other posts - I am sad about how Reiner is being remembered. Yes, he was rabidly anti-Trump. Unfortunately, that overwhelmed a lot of good aspects of his life. I used to enjoy watching his movies and watching him act. He also was good in interviews. He never took himself that seriously and had a sense of humor about himself. That’s the way I wish I could remember him. David keeping this performance in his show is petty and wrong. It makes it hard for those who disagree with Reiner on Trump to remember the good things about him.
