We had to bail. All seven of us got all the way through the lines to the Mall, only to be booted out as soon as we got there for severe weather alert. Here’s the problem.
They announced that no full bottles of water could be brought to the Mall, only empty bottles to refill at stations. So we didn’t bring water. We were waiting outside the Department of Agriculture building hoping to wait out the alert and go back in, but my oldest son, 16, standing 5’9” and 90 pounds dripping wet, started going into clinical dehydration. We got in line at the nearest hor dog stand, but they ran out of drinks when they got to third in line.
It’s a medical event. I had to call it. So we’re on the Orange Line train out to Vienna where I have drinks in a cooler in the van.
But the flyovers were awesome!!
