I can understand why Canadians are fed up with their horrible government.

I definitely don’t mean to sound contrary, but I’m more fed up with my fellow citizens than our government. The government is what it’s always been and always will be - greedy, blood-sucking leeches of mediocre intelligence always demanding more. I’m being forced to conclude that the average citizen in Canada is, in the words of the very great PDJT, too low-IQ to notice that we’re governed by arrogant incompetents.
Nietzsche suggested that there’s a deliberate and collective rejection of competence when it threatens the fragile self-image of the herd. To the question “Why are so many stupid people in charge?”, Nietzsche would answer “Because the system is designed by and for the mediocre to alleviate the existential threats from the competent.” It’s all a terrific analysis but still doesn’t explain why the average voter doesn’t see it. I suppose that’s where the conniving media enters the picture.
“Media” in Canada is totally bought/paid for with taxpayers money.
Exactly as ours would have been by now if Trump hadn’t got into the picture in 2015.

I agree completely. I see the smug complacent sheep around us every day. Capable of thought but preferring the comfy bubble.
I don’t have any idea what the mix might be but Kanada does have a crowd of sliders, some of whom work their way to the USA. I’ve known some who are/were native born Euros who first emigrated to Kanada because it was easier than getting to the USA. Once they got Citizenship in Kanada it was then easier to get to the USA. They worked a career in the USA until they qualified for SSA. In some cases they would take their SSA benefits and go back to their home country and also collect a benefit there, which they had to go home to get. The ones still in Kanada seem to be midway thru their scam and are going to vote to keep it going.
