Oh yeah. He understands Christ. Not. And this, from me, someone who is on a journey to find Christ, I know in my heart is just wrong. You cannot believe that and be a Christian. You may be something, but you aren't a Christian.
The Resurrection of Christ is the core of Christianity. The core. That much I have learned.
As for moral values from people like him and those he associates with?
We had a former President whose strongest personal, ethical, and moral influencer was a "Pastor" (Reverend Wright) who hated America so much that this "man of religion" had no problem taking the name of God in vain when he pleaded for God to "Damn America"
And this man (Bill Ayers) who was his most influential political influencer who he characterized as "some guy in the neighborhood". And that picture below that includes Bill Ayer, on the right, was him proudly trampling an American Flag under his feet on 9/10/2001. Think about that for a second:
This was all known, both Wright and Ayers, before the election. Yet the Democrat Party fully supported him.
Virginia recently got an Attorney General (Jay Jones) into office who discussed murdering a political opponent in cold blood while his family is forced to watch as he would be shot in the head twice, then murdering the children in front of the mother. Yes. This guy. 
There is Nazi wanna-be; an actual Nazi, woman abuser, and serial toilet masturbator running for the US Senate in Maine. Is there any doubt that he has a chance to win? That he might?
There is a now defunct Congressman from California, who was serving with no penalty, on the House Intelligence Committee, having a sexual relationship with a honeypot spy from Communist China:
Swalwell was also chummy with this transexual elected Democrat from Massachusetts (Stacie-Marie Laughton) who, by his own texts with his "partner" working at a day care, wanted to do unspeakable sexually perverted things (which I cannot post here) to a three year old toddler, and he didn't become persona-non-grata in the Democrat Party until he was convicted. 
Truth is, there is no such thing as a skeleton in a closet for Leftists. They are Leftists. Which means they are Socialists. Which means they are murdering Communist. And according to the audiobook I am currently writing "The Naked Communist" by W. Cleon Skousen which was published in 1958 explains communism in their own words:
"...In other words, Communism undertakes to re- place Judaic-Christian morals with a complete absence of morals. That this was exactly what later Communists de- duced from the teachings of their leaders is demonstrated in the words of a modern American Marxist: "With him (the Communist) the end justifies the means. Whether his tactics be 'legal' or "moral' or not, does not concern him, so long as they are effective. He knows that the laws as well as the current code of morals are made by his mortal enemies. Consequently, he ignores them insofar as he is able, and it suits his purposes. He proposes to develop, regardless of capitalist conceptions of 'legality,' 'fairness,' 'right,' etc., a greater power than his capitalist enemies have..."
These are the people that many Americans naively and unrealistically expect "moral" behavior from, The Democrat Party and the American Left.
I think I did too, a long time ago.
But that Democrat Party, even the one of George McGovern or Jimmy Carter, is not the Democrat Party of today. We should all keep this in mind:
